Tax Info :

The Practitioner Priority Service Toll-free Number Not To Be Shared - The Practitioner Priority Service toll-free number (1 -866-860-4259) is designed specifically for practitioners and should not be shared with non-practitioners. The PPS toll-free, accounts-related service is for all tax practitioners, nationwide. It is the practitioners' first point of contact for assistance regarding taxpayers' account-related issues. If your clients need to contact IRS, please refer them to 1-800-829-1040 for questions regarding individual tax returns or 1-800-829-4933 for issues related to business returns. When non-practitioners call the PPS toll-free number, it impacts the efficiency of this system and results in longer wait times for you, the practitioner.

Technology Update:

"Smart Hardware Maintenance Strategies"

Small Business Computing (03/16/04); Beth Cohen - A small business can lower its total hardware upkeep expenses while maintaining its computer systems at top efficiency by employing a combination of outsourcing repairs and keeping a particular stock of certain parts to cover hardware with high rates of failure. To keep those systems running well, a business needs to have a surplus of spare disk drives and monitors. This update is sponsored by ADP.

Keep current on IT issues and developments by joining the GSCPA Information Technology Section.

CPAs Needed for CPA Exam Content Subcommittees:

To meet the test question volume needed for a year-round Uniform CPA Examination, while maintaining the exam's legendary high-quality, the AICPA needs additional CPAs to review examination questions as part of Exam Content subcommittees. They require CPAs with at least 5 years experience in public practice, industry or teaching, who have either supervised or taught entry-level CPAs. Strong technical expertise in at least one exam section is required: Audit & Attestation, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Regulation, or Business Environment & Concepts. For details and an application.

High School Honors Luncheon:

The Accounting Career Awareness Committee is hosting the 2nd Annual High School Honor's Luncheon on April 29, 2004 at the 755 Club at Turner Field.
