Debra L. McGlaun, CPA, CFE
In 1999, Debbie began her career in public accounting after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Troy University with a BBA in Accounting. She earned her CPA license and CFE licenses through dedication and hard work. Her public accounting work has been focused on audits of nonprofits, as well as other types of businesses. She has performed audits under Yellow Book, Single Audit, and Governmental Auditing Standards. She has assisted nonprofit organizations with internal control and risk assessments, fraud prevention and detection services, forecasting and budgeting, controllership services, and forensic and litigation support services. She has also performed compilations and reviews for nonprofit organizations. She has worked with several local CPA firms in the Atlanta Metro Area, but recently opened her own auditing and accounting practice. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Georgia Chapter of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She currently serves as a Board Member of the GSCPA Educational Foundation and is also a Member-at-Large of the GSCPA Leadership Council. She also serves as the Treasurer and Past President of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation. She has previously served as a Board Member on two other nonprofit organization Boards, St. Jude’s Recovery Center, Inc. and Emerge Scholarships. Her experience in public accounting and service to nonprofit organizations has provided Debbie with an immense amount of knowledge in how to serve and assist nonprofit organizations to ensure operational success.
