Meredith W. Caiafa
Meredith Caiafa collaborates closely with corporate clients throughout the U.S. and provides counseling and representation regarding employment, executive compensation, and restrictive covenants matters. She helps her clients achieve their business goals by providing legal advice and strategic analysis on ever-changing federal and state employment laws, human resources issues, and executive compensation in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions. She offers critical guidance regarding multi-state employment concerns and negotiates various employment-related contracts. Meredith frequently negotiates employment and severance arrangements that impact senior executives and serves as a regular and essential part of major corporate transactions, providing executive compensation and employment law analysis and guidance to her clients. She works on compensation matters, such as executive employment arrangements, separation and change-in-control agreements, and retention and bonus programs, which are integral to the success of business operations. In addition, Meredith represents clients in litigation matters regarding restrictive covenants, employment contracts, compensation, and employment discrimination. Meredith has extensive experience in all aspects of complex litigation, including arbitration, mediation, and trial work in state and federal courts. She also specializes in appellate practice, particularly in federal courts of appeals and the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to entering private practice, Meredith served as a judicial clerk for Judge Emilio M. Garza on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and for Judge Orinda D. Evans on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
