Lynn Northrup
C. Lynn Northrup is an author, authoritative business advisor and consultant. He develops and delivers executive educational programs based on his professional expertise in operations, performance measurement, and strategic cost management. Experience: Mr. Northrup has 40 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution as a controller, a CPA, and an operational consultant. Lynn has specialized in conducting operational and workflow assessments focused on business process improvement (Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma). He has extensive knowledge and experience in performance measurement and application of strategic cost management and analysis concepts. He has managed major ERP system selection and implementation projects. Representative work and experience includes: Training and teaching national and regional CPA firms, national conference presentations, and training for national providers of continuing professional education. Controller and an officer of a complex multinational manufacturing company. Developed, implemented, and managed all cost accounting, financial, and budget forecasting systems on a worldwide basis for over 35 profit centers. Manufacturing industry experience includes medical products, building products, automotive (tier 1), electrical lighting, printing, office equipment, concrete, giftware products, furniture, and food processing. Manufacturing process experience includes plastic extrusion, injection molding, rubber extrusion and molding, knitting of wire and textiles, urethane molding, chemical processes, metal stamping, machine shop, metal coating, food processing and baking, assembly and distribution. Created and implemented solutions using contribution accounting to establish accurate costs and profitability by major product lines and by customer. Created procedures for measuring waste and usage reporting and improved inventory control including lot tracking, shelf life, and QC testing. Mr. Northrup was previously with McGladrey & Pullen's national manufacturing consulting practice, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and has held various management and executive positions in industry including Controller, Vice President of Finance, and President and Chief Operating Officer.
