Manuel Aya, CFA
Manuel is a Senior Consultant with over 4 years of experience in financial services, focusing on banking, capital markets and asset management. Manuel currently specializes in financial modeling related to fair value valuations of target companies' loans, deposits and debt portfolios in M&A transactions. His experience also includes assisting small, medium and large financial institutions with operating model transitions for completed mergers and acquisitions and working with clients to strengthen their risk management procedures, including model risk management and validation and assessing other high-risk areas such as liquidity and capital planning, currency management and cash-flow forecasting, among others. Manuel has experience working with banks to prepare for regulatory examinations and respond to matters requiring attention (MRAs). Manuel has also assisted regional banks in evaluating their ALLL frameworks, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and currently works with regional and community banks to help them transition to the CECL standard as well. Prior to joining Valuant, Manuel was a Senior Consultant in the Financial Services Office of a Big 4 Consulting firm; working with Fortune 500 clients in the Northeast and West Coast region, including systematically important financial institutions.
