Joseph Comtois
Joseph D. Comtois, CPA Joseph D. Comtois, CPA, P.C./Burke, Virginia Joseph Comtois consults in accounting and auditing and provides litigation support and arbitration services for government and nonprofit organizations. He has over 25 years of experience with the U.S. General Accounting Office where he directed a wide range of audit and evaluation activities involving federal, state and local government and nonprofit sectors. While at the GAO, he also consulted with the U.S. Congress on the development and passage of the Single Audit Act, a major intergovernmental audit reform. Mr. Comtois holds a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University in Virginia. He served on the Advisory Committee of the School of Business and Legal Studies at George Mason University and is a former adjunct professor at American University. In addition to his national speaking engagements, Mr. Comtois has served as past President of the Northern Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPA's, and has served on committees of the AICPA, Virginia Society of CPA's, Association of Government Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Institute of Management Accountants. He is a Certified Governmental Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiner, and Member of the Board of Forensic Accountants of the American College of Forensic Examiner.
