Member Monday: Kendra LaFleur

Meet Kendra LaFleur, this week’s Member Monday! She is a Georgia native and was born in Atlanta and then raised in Norcross, GA. After high school, she attended college at Georgia State University.  After graduating, she moved to Duluth, Ga and married her college sweetheart; together they have three amazing children, Makayla, Kendrick and Caleb. Kendra serves on the finance committee for Girls on the Run of Georgia, the AICPA’s Young Member Leadership Committee, and is the Treasurer for the Women’s Department at her church. She has been a GSCPA member for 11 years and serves on the GSCPA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and the nonprofit conference committee.

In her spare time, she loves to read memoirs, biographies and cheesy romance novels! A fun fact about Kendra is that she used to train with several track and field Olympians, including two gold medalists!

When Kendra was asked why she chose the accounting profession, she said “In high school, I took an accounting course and did really well and so my high school teacher encouraged me to pursue a degree in accounting.  As I began taking the accounting courses in college, I was exposed to how many opportunities there were in the profession and so I declared accounting as my major.  I started my career as an intern at Carr, Riggs and Ingram, LLC (CRI) and recently made Partner here! I never thought that this would have been my path but am so grateful that I am where I am now. I am so blessed to be able to work alongside such brilliant, encouraging and just overall amazing people! After my promotion to Partner, I was able to celebrate with a few of my favorite CPA’s pictured above!”

Congratulations on making Partner! We are so excited to see how you will help shape the profession!

The Member Monday series will highlight a different GSCPA member each week. GSCPA is excited to introduce you to your fellow members and let you get to know a little more about them. Stayed tuned for the next Member Spotlight.
