Senior VP Mary E. Benton
Mary E. Benton Senior Vice President Introduction Mary Benton, a Senior Vice President, is the manager of the Institutional Advisory Center. Mary brings more than 25 years experience to the retirement services and banking industries. Background and Experience Mary is currently responsible for servicing institutional trust clients with a focus on where SunTrust is servicing in the discretionary trustee role for defined benefit plans. In previous roles she was responsible for the Administration of various sub units within Institutional Investment Solutions including Foundations and Endowments, Escrow Services and Employee Benefits Solutions both the 401(k) and Defined Benefit units. Mary joined SunTrust in 1989 in the Employee Benefits department as a balance forward record keeper. She has managed various groups within the employee benefits division and led the team that started the daily recordkeeping business for the bank. In addition she was one of the principals involved in developing and managing the 401(k) recordkeeping partnership for the organization. Education Mary is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in management and a concentration in finance. She is a qualified 401(K) Administrator (QKA) through ASPPA
