The contractor sought $64 million in damages under a Federal construction contract. The government thought the claim was fishy. The court agreed, found fraud in the claim, and tossed it out. But it didn't end there. The court ordered the contractor to pay the defendant $51 million due to the fraud. Examine a United States Court of Federal Claims case (affirmed by the Federal Circuit) that should help deter frivolous (and fraudulent) claims.
