As a GSCPA member dedicated to volunteering in various communities throughout Georgia, you are increasing the awareness of popular issues that are of importance to specific audiences – including students, investors, local nonprofits and the general public.

You are not only a volunteer, but you are also an individual with a financial/accounting background. This extensive knowledge makes you a desirable volunteer for various organizations throughout Georgia. GSCPA encourages you to share your abilities and promote your profession by volunteering in an area that interests you.

Spirit of Atlanta

Position: Treasurer, Board of Directors (volunteer)

Spirit of Atlanta is a Georgia-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that operates Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps. Our mission is to provide youth with opportunities to develop and refine artistic, athletic, performance, and personal skills. We offer positive, high-quality, and challenging arts education programs that emphasize character building, a strong work ethic, teamwork, and the pursuit of performance excellence. We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and lead the Finance Committee. This is a volunteer position overseeing an annual budget of approximately $2M. Frontline Housing

Position:  Financial Well-Being Volunteer

Frontline Housing is looking for volunteers to lead our in-person financial well-being workshops. We provide financial assistance for families experiencing homelessness living in motels. After housing our families, we provide monthly workshops that discuss topics to ensure families don't repeat homelessness. We are looking for multiple workshop leaders to present topics such as credit, savings, budgeting, homebuyer, and more. Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter, Inc.

Position:  Auditor

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization in Warner Robins, GA and we're seeking a certified CPA to perform an audit review as an in-kind donation or at a significant discount.  We are currently seeking grant funding to operate our programs and for operational expenses. Association for Talent Development – Greater Atlanta Chapter

Position: CFO

The ATD Greater Atlanta Chapter is a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Ga., in need of a certified CPA to serve as part of the Finance Committee. If you join the committee now and are successful, you'd be considered a nominee for the chapter's CFO. If elected, you'd be part of the 2022 Executive Board Committee of the chapter.

My Style Matters

Position: Volunteer Accountant

My Style Matters is a 501c3 grassroots nonprofit organization that provides cancer education and risk-reduction strategies, patient advocacy, and firsthand supportive services for cancer survivors and their care partners based in the metro Atlanta area. We are seeking a volunteer Accountant with Non-Profit experience to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for numerous accounting tasks to include but not limited:

  • Process all cash receipts journal entries for the organization
  • Process all cash and check deposits
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assist with the year-end filing and audit
  • Assemble necessary reports and information such as quarterly board packets

*Quickbook experience preferred.
